Any good tips and/or home remedies for dry hair?

Ever since I had my baby I've had 'hair issues' - from more hair loss to dry hair. I've tried several different conditioners and treatments per my salon's suggestion and none seem to do the trick.

I've even gone so far to as to have medical tests done to make sure that I don't have any health issues because of these situations and I'm fine as far as that goes but I still have the constant dry hair and hair loss.

I use to have thick healthy hair and I'd love to have it once more. Any suggestions? Tips? Products out there that others have tried who have had the same issues? Thanks

Coconut oil, the kind that comes in a jar that you have to rub in your hands to warm and melt. Excellent natural hair conditioner.

I've been taking a vitamin type product called "Biotin" for the past couple of months and I think it's helping! You can find it at Walmart.

Try switching to a cleansing conditioner instead of a shampoo. I made the switch 6 weeks ago and my hair has never looked better. It makes sense that if you can get your hair clean without detergent and without stripping out the oils, then it will naturally be better for your hair. I tried a couple different brands and found that I like DevaConcepts "No-Poo" and "One Condition" the best. It's a little hard to get used to because the conditioner-like consistency makes it hard to believe that it's actually cleaning your hair, but it does. Deva products are only available at ULTA or through their website. Good luck!

I carry a good reconstructor in my hair studio in Woodland Hills. I wash the hair, towel blot and apply it placing a plastic bag on the head to hold in the heat., this way it will penetrate into the cuticle. 20 minutes usually does the trick.

Find a product you like and use it this way or come see me and I will do it for you with my reconstructor.

I had this same issue after I had my last baby. I haven't found anything that works for me, but I've been told drinking just a ton of water helps. Of course, that could be just a old wives tale.

So I'd be interested in suggestions too!
