Summer time is the time to equip ourselves with the latest and greatest outfits to endure the heat.  There are many ways to cool down during the summer, but summer clothes are the key to staying cool.  There are many great options, but there are a few kid-friendly ones that I love!

My favorite summer must-have is the romper.  Rompers were around when I was growing up.  I loved wearing these as a kid.  I am so excited that they have come back in style for my daughter to wear as well.  Rompers are cute all-in-one shorts outfits.  They come in a huge range of playful colors and designs.  My daughter is in the potty training stage so these are perfect for her right now.  The best part about rompers is that you do not have to look for tops and matching bottoms, which is great if your little one is determined to dress herself!  These are also great for cover-ups for your little ones' bathing suits.  You can get a romper to match your child's bathing suit and you are well on your way to a fun day at the beach.

Sundresses are the epitome of summer.  Sundresses are cool and light.  You can dress them up or you can dress them down.  If you live in an area where the nights are cool, you can easily get a light sweater to wear over the sundress.  If you live in a very warm location like I do, sundresses are great from morning to night.  Your child can run and play all day while staying cool all the while.

You also must purchase a bathing suit for your little bathing beauty!  When it was finally warm enough for my daughter to get in the pool, I went crazy buying her bathing suits.  I bought her several because she tends to get in and out of the pool all day.  I know I do not like putting on a wet suit so I figured she would not either.  I did let her pick out several on her own.  I could not believe the styles that are available for children.  There are one-piece suits, two-piece suits and tankinis.  I even found a suit that copied the style from the 1950's.  The 1950's suit is my favorite on her.  When finding the perfect suit, make sure that it will cover your little darling's bottom.  No one likes to have a suit that needs to be adjusted constantly.

The last must-have item that can be worn with all of the above items is sandals.  If your little one is like my daughter, she will not wear a sandal or flip-flop that goes between her toes.  I have tried over and over but to no avail.  I try to find sandals that are just one strap over her whole foot.  I also like sandals that have velcro straps because she can easily put them on or take them off all by herself.  I love white sandals because they go with just about everything.  I would suggest buying several pairs if you buy white since white does tend to get dirty.  If you do not care for the white, you may want to try a tan or brown color which also goes with a wide variety of colors.
