Beautiful baby shower gifts are fun to give and exciting to receive.  Nothing makes a baby shower more special than to create a gift table with all of the colorfully wrapped gifts.  Often, the traditional umbrella is prominently displayed as the centerpiece; sometimes, the shower cake takes the spotlight.  But the real star of the show are the gifts for the new baby, which are arranged on the gift table.

Blue or pink gingham paper with a beautiful bow and a cute baby shower card is our standard gift wrap if the baby's sex has been determined.  We always avoid yellow paper; this is the safe gender neutral from your grandmother's day.  Today's hip neutral colors are sage green and chocolate brown paper.  Add orange, green, white, or red ribbon for the finishing touch to a beautifully wrapped unisex gift.  Lots of tissue and colorful ribbons are the best way to dress up a shower gift.  Cards and personal messages are very important; many newbie moms save these as a reminder of the special day.

If the shower gift has more than one item, I like to tissue wrap each item and place them in a pink or blue gift bags with hand appliqued crocheted dresses for girls and jackets for boys; I like to add lots of soft tissue paper in bright colors.  Of course, you can always substitute green, brown, or white gift bags for a gender neutral gift.  We add tissue in many different colors to brighten these bags.

The ultimate luxury shower gift wrapping is a basket filled to the brim with fabulous baby must-haves like bibs, blankets, stuffed toys, towels and layette essentials.  Our favorite basket is a white wicker bassinet measuring approximately 14 inches long; this gives you plenty of room to hold all the treasures you select.  Each basket is wrapped in clear plastic, tied with a bright ribbon and finished off with colorful tissue paper.

We love creating custom baskets.  If the shower has a theme like transportation or princess, the basket can follow the theme.  If we know the colors of the nursery, it is simple to add the right color tissue and ribbon to make every gift the perfect baby shower gift.
