Shower Theme One

What kind of shower do you hold for a Mom who has chosen for her baby's sex to be a surprise on the baby's birthday?  A Rainbow Shower is our solution!  The brighter the better to get everyone excited about the new baby.

Tabletops

The key is to make each piece stand out in a bright solid: Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Lavender!  What about a bowl full of dyed eggs as a centerpiece, yes, like Easter eggs, to celebrate new beginnings and birth.

Foods

A rainbow cake OF COURSE!  It's a must!  This particular cake design has taken the world by storm in past years, and for good reason -- it's absolutely magical.  Make your own version by combining carrot cake, white cake, red velvet in giant three layered cake.  Another alternative is to serve cupcakes with different colored flavors and frosting.

Rainbow sodas and sparkling juices in every color make a neat treat and a beautiful rainbow, plus it's fun to keep a baby shower alcohol-free. Crush, Izze, Boylans and more, all come in outrageous hues . Ice teas now come in a variety of colors and are always a safe bet and for a twist of nostalgia, serve pink home made lemonade.

Shower Theme Two

For a very modern Mom!

Keep it simple, whether it be stripes, polka dots, or her initials.  Go big, bold, and graphic for your modern mom baby shower.  The shower hostesses can buy her the essentials and wrap them in bright baskets as centerpieces for the table.  Diaper cakes also make great centerpieces and really look like a cake.

Foods

Mocktails for everyone!  Modern moms love rosemary-infused cucumber lemonade with fresh rosemary, cucumbers and lemons.

Shower Theme Three

Outdoor Baby Showers are Perfect for the mom who has seen it all and loves an intricate gathering of those nearest and dearest to her.

Try a Plantasia Baby shower

Plant nursery meets baby nursery in this jungle-y natural theme.  Hold this party outdoors for a garden-loving mama.

Tabletops

Plants, plants, and more plants!  The centerpieces can be reused.  The plants can be gifts for the other shower planners or gifts for the mom-to-be.  Depending on where you live, go with local and seasonal plants, like succulents in Arizona, Hibiscus in Florida, Azaleas in the South, and Ferns in Washington.

Foods

Seasonal and local -- fresh fruits and veggies.  Salads of all types would make for some great themed eats!  Heirloom tomato and herb salad, country corn and chicken, arugula caprese salad or just some fresh mixed greens.  Make your own croutons!

Drinks

Go absolutely all out if you want, and serve healthy GREEN drinks.  Or if you aren't gaga for kale smoothies, gorgeous edible flowers can be frozen in ice cubes for an ultra fabulous take on Mother Nature's nectar, pure H2O! Fill an ice cube tray half way with water.  Freeze. Dip  edible organic flowers in cold water and place one on each half-cube.  Top with water.  Freeze!  Edible flowers are sold in the produce section of the grocery, in little plastic containers near the fresh herbs.

Sweets

Whoopie pies are a great new desert trend and they would make a sweet treat as the cherry on top on this plantastic party!  Plenty of fresh fruit for the diet conscious.  Blueberries and strawberries are all over the place.

Activities

Everyone can take home a package of seeds -- the party is to celebrate birth after all!  Then, when the baby is born, you can all take turns bringing the new parents fresh heirloom tomato pasta sauce for dinner from your garden!
