Apparently, we're interested in good manners -- so why are we so ill-mannered? If you're overwhelmed by rules, and lists of dos and don'ts are driving you crazy, just relax. Remember, best manners start at home as your children watch how you behave. Just start with the basics: Saying "please" and "thank you," and treating others with consideration. You can always tackle those other rules later, in reasonable chunks and with reasonable expectations.
In the meantime, you'll have established an easy baseline behavior for your children that will benefit them in any situation.
