Like most moms, I pack for myself last -- often in a frantic dash as we are heading out the door.  I barely have time for the essentials, much less anything remotely luxurious.  This time around, I am planning ahead and keeping a small bag packed and ready to throw in the suitcase.  Given that I am usually relegated to the left-over nooks and crannies in the suitcase, nothing bulky is permitted.

Here's my list:

  • Small bottle of bubble bath or bath salts
  • Tea bags
  • Favorite perfume (in sample sizes or a travel container)
  • Travel size moisturizing mask
  • Luxurious foot and hand cream
  • M&Ms
  • New book

 

Surprise your spouse by creating a bag of luxury items just for them and then make the effort to use most of the items you brought.  Taking time out for yourself, even just a few scattered minutes, will make the vacation more enjoyable for all.
