Why a Hooded Towel is the Perfect Baby Gift?
Picking out a baby gift that will thrill a new mother can be a real challenge. Whether you are going to a baby shower or baby naming, or simply popping a baby gift in the mail, you want your gift to be special. You want to send a gift that is both beautiful and useful. You also want to send a gift that is not a duplicate.Over the years, I have discovered that you can never go wrong sending a baby towel. It is the most practical gift to send for either a newborn baby or an older sibling. A baby or child can never have enough towels. Towels come in hundreds of designs. They don't have to match nurseries, and they don't have to compliment strollers. They only need to soak up wetness after a bath and be durable.Just because a towel is practical doesn't mean it can't be a show-stopper. Beautiful towels are available in all colors and styles, from classic white terry trimmed in gingham to elaborate animal tubbies in bright colors with hoods like lions or flowers. Towels can be p...

What Do You Send to the Baby Who Has Everything?
When you receive a baby announcement for a baby that has been feted at baby showers, and also has doting grandparents and a nursery fit for royalty, it is tough to come up with a unique baby gift. And if the birth announcement is from a family announcing their third or fourth child, or their second child of the same sex as the first, the natural reaction is "what could this child possibly need?" But the truth is that every baby needs something that is his or hers alone. Something that has never belonged to anyone else; something that is not a hand-me-down; something that he or she will always treasure.A beautiful, soft baby blanket is always a cherished gift, and a handcrafted personalized baby blanket is an instant keepsake. When you are investing time and money in a custom blanket, you should consider the following guidelines:l. Find out the color scheme of the baby's nursery.2. Double check the spelling of the child's name.3. Make sure the blanket is washable.4. Check the pro...

How to Wrap a Baby Shower Gift
Beautiful baby shower gifts are fun to give and exciting to receive. Nothing makes a baby shower more special than to create a gift table with all of the colorfully wrapped gifts. Often, the traditional umbrella is prominently displayed as the centerpiece; sometimes, the shower cake takes the spotlight. But the real star of the show are the gifts for the new baby, which are arranged on the gift table.Blue or pink gingham paper with a beautiful bow and a cute baby shower card is our standard gift wrap if the baby's sex has been determined. We always avoid yellow paper; this is the safe gender neutral from your grandmother's day. Today's hip neutral colors are sage green and chocolate brown paper. Add orange, green, white, or red ribbon for the finishing touch to a beautifully wrapped unisex gift. Lots of tissue and colorful ribbons are the best way to dress up a shower gift. Cards and personal messages are very important; many newbie moms save these as a reminder of the speci...

What's the Most Important Item in Your Diaper Bag?
Wet happens; worse than wet happens. The only items that solve these problems are baby wipes. Nothing can take more diaper wipes to clean up than you know what. And it always happens when you least expect it. Even minor issues, like a sticky lollipop or a snack after playing in a park, can be solved by a wet, clean baby wipe.Every diaper bag should have a container of baby wipes. Every purse should have any extra package in case your diaper wipes in the dipaer bag are empty. Every car should have a baby wipe case in plain view. What if you can't get to your heavy diaper bag in the back seat and someone just sneezed or vomited?Diaper wipe cases and containers range from simple necessities to luxurious accessories. They come in a modest white plastic case. They can be dolled up by painting the case, adding a name or design with a magic marker or paint. Handy moms can glue gorgeous fabric to the cases that match the baby's outfit, the stroller, or their purse. Talented craft...

A Grandmother Needs A Crib To Call Her Own
Yesterday, my friend (a new grandmother) came over and helped me take apart my beautiful white crib. We lovingly packed the headboard and footboard between towels and stowed it in the back of my van. We wrapped the custom bumpers and coordinating bedskirt in plastic, and tucked it my hall closet.

Will Your Baby's Name Be a Classic?
Will the trendy names of today's babies become classics? The top boys and girls names of 1910 listed below are almost obsolete for the baby's of the 21st century. Almost no one calls a new baby girl Mary or a boy Richard. Only one of the girls names listed in 1910 is listed in the top 50 names of baby girls for 2010, and that name is Elizabeth. Sometimes, celebrities like to be different and select an old fashion name. Jennifer Connelly named her new baby girl Agnes, but most moms prefer popular names like Ava and Sophie. Every mom wants her child to be popular, so the best way to start is to choose a popular name -- especially for girls.
